Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information StarScoop collects and how it is used.

Last updated: January 2026

The short version

StarScoop is a publication that you read. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible, and we do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account or submit personal details to read the site. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information such as your browser type, device and approximate region, along with the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site running and to understand, in aggregate, what readers find useful.

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in that message. We use it only to respond to you.

Cookies and analytics

We keep tracking to a minimum. If we use privacy-conscious analytics to measure traffic, it is configured to avoid collecting more than is necessary to count visits and understand general trends. Any third-party services we rely on, such as our hosting and content delivery provider, process data according to their own policies.

Advertising

Where advertising or affiliate links appear, they may involve third parties that set their own cookies or collect usage data. We describe our commercial relationships in our Advertising Disclosure.

Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Doing so should not stop you from reading the site. You can also contact us if you have a question about information you have sent us by email.

Children

StarScoop is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page.
